All set for my very first foray into this wonderful (?) world.  Got myself verified on RS2K right out the door to broaden my opportunities, spent a week or so emailing back and forth with my chosen provider (first verification, then scheduling);  she had only two reviews here, but both very good and one of them from a very prolific reviewer [jeez, I wish I had that guy's budget :)].  Got a haircut, went to the gym beforehand and cleaned up extra nice, good christ I even shaved the boys!  (Yeah, they're itching now, for more reasons than one).

Nervous as hell of course, being a hobby-virgin and all, but I was at the appointed place at the appointed time and called the number she gave me - voicemail.  Texted - no response.  Lather, rinse, repeat.  Finally gave up after about 45 minutes.  Wanna know the really weird thing?  I'm 99.999% sure I saw her walking into the hotel complex just as I pulled in - thin, with hair and glasses that looked *very* much like the picture in her ad, even with the face blurred out.  So it seems she was there, and wouldn't pick up?  Checked to make sure my cell number isn't blocked, used *82, even texted a buddy and he saw my number.

Back to square one.  I've tried contacting a few other providers via email, but it ain't so easy to get started as a n00b, I guess, even with ready-made RS2K screening available.  At least I've still got my cash for the next attempt.

Okay, after that little rant I feel better.  Well actually, no I don't.  Arrrrrrrgggggghhhhh.

Correct spelling, grammar, and syntax?  We need more people who write like "chicks" on this site.

Things will improve as you get more experience.

Ok, so I could maybe buy a pack of gum....... Point is this shit happens. Take it in stride, have some kind of back up plan, and if that doesn't work out, try again.

It is almost unforgivable that she did not at least call back later.

For some reason, things in this hobby do not allways work out.... I'll let you try to figure out why.  A lot of ladies are extremely reliable, but even more are not. And even for the best, things can go wrong. Even Doctors cannot always keep appointments..... (I was going to say Bankers and Lawyers, but hate to put these fine Ladies in the same catogory;-)

. . . unless you intend to give her a second chance.

I don't intend to try again with her - once burned, twice shy - but I'm giving her a day to see if she responds to my last email before naming names.  Also, being new here I don't really want to start out having to report a problem.

ok i am sorry for saying that you write like a chick because if you were a chick you would be really going after her.

might i recommend a provider for you?! She's very personable, always on time, and answers her phone, text and emails promptly. She was my first provider and she made me feel very comfortable and at ease. give her a try... i highly recommend her.

I had a reverse experience just recently.
I arrived on time, on target, and waited appropriately to call 5 minutes before.....and....my damn cell phone did not work.  It was panic time.  And by the time I contacted her by a regular phone, it was too late.  Thankfully, she was understanding.  The moral of story is to not leap to conclusions I guess?

Which I why I think it is wise to give the other person some time to get in touch, offer an explanation, and hopefully make it right.
