It's been so long since I spent Christmas in Michigan and now I have no clue what to do while I'm there (besides be with family of course!) Is the ice rink at Hart Plaza still a thing? Also best places for lunch and or happy hour would be greatly appreciated.
I think Campus Martius is the cool place for ice skating.
I don't live in Detroit, just visit pretty regularly. My restaurant knowledge isn't very deep, but might have suggestions. What area are you mainly going to be in?
Here are a couple places north of 8 Mile I've eaten recently that I've liked: . Anita's Kitchen, Ferndale (https://anitaskitchen.com/akferndale/) - breakfast and lunch . Fly Trap, Ferndale (http://www.theflytrapferndale.com/The_Fly_Trap/daily_buzz.php) - breakfast and lunch . Latido@joebar, Hazel Park (http://joebar.com) - happy hour and dinner . There seem to be lots of trendy happy hour places in Corktown and Downtown. . As far as other things, Greenfield Village with the Christmas decorations is nice if you get a warm day. The Rouge tour is great, but might be closed during the time you're there.
