If neither party is plain not interested not long a d deeper issues persist.

 If there are health issues then time and patience are a must.

For some people - older, no other possibilities, etc. - forever...  
But, if you have a hottie at home... I assume there's a big reason for it not happening like it's happening somewhere else, so, then it just becomes if it is better to stay for other reasons.
