Which do you prefer to use?

I know having to use a passport to cross back into the USA isn't required yet.  But just wondering how many of us out there do use their passport anyways.
Last time I crossed back, from Otay, it seemed to go a bit faster using my passport, than having them type in my info from my DL.

I have used my passport for 2 years. About 90% of the time it saves me time going through. It's not important wether I am driving or walking.

More often than not, they either just hand me back my ID or swipe the magnetic strip.  Only rarely do they actually type in the info.

I have a passport but I never take it to Mexico; it's not worth losing down there.

What comes up on their screen when they swipe the strip on the DL?

I'm guessing here, but name and address. Again, just a guess.
I seem to recall Fry's got in trouble with the state of California for swiping customers  DL when they wrote a check and then storing the info.
