Political Instability Emboldens TJ Cops

I remember a few years ago how things were before Jorge Hank was elected mayor. The cops were out of control. They smelled a new administration and a power vacuum. There were a lot of shakedowns and other problems in those days.

I see the same pattern developing now. Reports of shakedowns (especially at the SENTRI drop off) are way up.

Hopefully after the election things will stabilize, but that is months away. For now it is prudent to extra vigilant

For the record: Tijuana is not a dangerous place. I see encounters with the cops as being more of a nuisance than a danger. (Sort of like having to drive through rush hour traffic to get to TJ.)

Burt for the latest.  Wondering what would happen once Jorge stepped aside to run for Governor.
