I had a great time last time at AB but it could've been better. It would be much better if there were some conversation before and during. Very few if any girls spoke any english (at least the hot ones anyways) I plan to take some spanish classes but that would let me speak to them as 3 year old Spaniard child. Very proper and correct.
The classroom doesn't offer any street or "dirty" language. Can anyone recommend a website with such vocabulary and phrases. The only thing i could recognize last time was "doggy", "$60 half hour", "grande culo", "me finished" I'm guessing "mucho leche" or something like that is good.
Our website has by far the most Spanish (there is some new Spanish on a daily regular basis) than any other TJ website (this is a fact for those that are on all the websites) including a Spanish Phrase of the Day (expressions you can use in TJ with the pronounciation as well) that has been going on for quite awhile. We have a beginner Spanish section as well for those who have never spoken Spanish.
Our archives in our Spanish area is huge. It's all Mexican Spanish that is used in TJ, not Spanish which can be different in other countries. Some books are also available in stores or on line but some of the expressions are not used in Mexico. All the Spanish on our website is for use in TJ.
We also have a guy who is native, who will personally translate anything you want translated into Spanish. The Chamuco site is not active (info was left there) but it is free and a good start although I find some of the phrases there a little awkward.
use informal partial sentences for the big three. I have never had a chica who didn't understand or who was offended. I generally do not ask until I have had a few drinks with the chica.
BBBJ = ¿Chupa sin condon? choopah seen condohn DATY = ¿Sesenta y nueve? sehsentah ee nwehvee DFK = ¿Tu besa con la lingua? too behsah cohn lah leengwah
Obviously DATY is simply do you do 69. It is much easier to say than the correct form which is ¿Puedo comer su panocha?
You will have more success if you ask the questions with a smile. Also, remember that in Spanish the questions are identical to positive statements so you have to raise the pitch at the end of the sentence to let someone know it is a question.
If you get the right answers ask: ¿Quieres subir con migo? Kee-eh-rehs soobeer cohn meegoh Would you like to go up with me?
the second and third time I went to the Zone, years ago, I printed up the phrases but was so nervous, trying to speak spanish, I could have been talking Klingon and she wouldn't have known the difference. Finally, those few awkward times, I just showed the chica and she understood and started to laugh. It definitely helped me with my clumsiness with Espanol.
Gracias for the quickee Spanish lesson, for me, always good to practice. When I would be in the cabs headed over to the Zone, I would sometimes practice aloud, but usually in my head, those phrases and I'd either get weird looks but usually big smiles from the cab drivers......
