I was in TJ on Sunday and noticed all the SG were off the main road and gathered in strange places.  Now I know what was going on.  They were still on the street though.  I don't think this will last long.  They can't enforce it forever.  However, they may start cracking down on gringos so be careful out there.

Did anyone happen to see the news report on TV last night (Channel 5 KSWB 10:00pm) about SG protests against the city of TJ implementing an ordinance barring SG from plying their trade in the streets of Zona Norte?  City officials want to clean up the city's image and want the SGs off the street.  They are attempting to force the SGs to register themselves and work in so called "legal" brothels.

I read on another forum that the infamous alley is devoid of street walkers (or would that be street standers?) and that one of the hotels is allowing the girls to use their lobby in the interim until all of the specifics are sorted out.

I wonder if this is a temporary squeeze or if a new sheriff has been called in to restore order in this town.  What will this do to AB, CC and the other bars in the area?  Will business increase or will they be targets next?  Can anyone comment or give their observations of the situation down there?

I was in TJ last week (9/20-25) and it seems like business as usual re street scene.  However, I did notice a protest march of 100-150 people walking down Rev. Ave from the arch to the Zona.  What caught my interest was that the SGs tried to hide from sight (ie, stand behind columns or stay within door thresholds) for a brief time until the march passed.

if you guys want the most up to date, current news on TJ, it's best to be a member of a TJ site.

There are several good ones.

If you do go to TJ and aren't a part of a TJ site, you're missing out.

For less the price of one session seeing a bar chica, you can join up at a TJ pay site and get so much info!

Knowledge is power and  that will lead you to some fine chicas that give awesome service.

The sure bets are the Internet Chicas that are reviewed here on TER.
But if you want a great bargain, the bar girls are great.
Some are really into Street girls and each day, it seems something new is happening in the Alley.

Right now, I'm glad I am not into the street girls since it's so chaotic in the Zone.

shoot me a PM if you want more details about the best TJ pay sites.

as usual, be careful in the Zone, it's just a little unstable right now

The new SG ban in the alley took effect 9/24.  Went down last night and there are more girls on Constitucion and on 1st, but very few on the sidewalk in the alley.

It appeared the march did some good.  Before the march the girls were not banned from the alley.  Following the march I saw (on 9/28/04) that many of the girls had returned to the alley.

The word I'm getting is the bar owners in the alley want the street girls banned from the alley.  They think the street girls are "stealing" their customers.

Some think the ban will fall by the wayside.  Others that it will spread to Consititucion and Ninos Heroes.  Time will tell.

I must respectfully disagree with Rockhard.  The largest and most information site I know of regarding TJ is a free site.  It is not necessary to join a pay site to get detailed, compreshensive information about Tijuana.

Anyone wanting to discuss this matter please email me at: [email protected].  (My VIP has lapsed.)

The street girl scene is back to normal, at least for the present time.  The order removing the girls from the Alley was suspended to give hotel owners more time to built lobby areas to accomodate the street girls.

It remains to be seen what will happen in the future.  The bar owners in the Alley don't like the street girls.  They think the girls are "stealing" their customers.

Many expect things to become more permissives when the PRI takes office on December 1st.  Others are less sure.  It appears Jorge Hank, the incoming mayor, has his sites set on becoming govenor of Baja California in 2006.  If so, he probably will be cautious and not as permissive as many expect.

I must respectfully disagree regarding the need of joing a pay site to obtain detailed information about Tijuana.  All the above--and much more--is available on a free site.

I just saw my favorita, and she had mentioned how she had a whole new bunch of friends who used to be street girls.

It's going to separate the girls from the ladies, as the street girls that can make it will find a way through this, and the girls who have moved up to the clubs, they will either make it or break it. So I hear. Anyways, the shifting around of the street girls will hopefully improve the quality there.
