It seems will be hard to know what really happened. The other agencys are in full service already, and TJ it's hot as hell right know,

The owner of Team Juanita (together with some of his escorts) was arrested Sunday evening as part of a sting operation conducted by Mexican law enforcement. (Possibly with assistance from US agencies.) Full details and the exact charges have not yet been made public, but the charges will probably be something related to pimping and pandering.

Please note that the spokesperson for the US Consulate said:
1--none of his escorts were minors
2--there are no charges pending against him in the U.S.

Below is an AP article.  (I changed his name to "The owner of Team Juanita" in what follows.)

Tijuana police arrest U.S. citizen in prostitution ring case

By: Associated Press -

TIJUANA, Mexico -- A U.S. citizen accused of running an Internet-based prostitution ring was arrested in the border city of Tijuana.

"The owner of Team Juanita", 47, of *****, California, was being held pending further investigation after he was arrested Monday with three prostitutes and the ring's alleged secretary, according to Lorena Blanco, a spokeswoman with the U.S. Consulate in Tijuana who commented on the case Tuesday.

"The owner of Team Juanita" allegedly operated the ring out of Tijuana, but catered to American clients who were escorted from the border to Mexican hotels where they met the women, Tijuana Public Safety Secretary Luis Javier Algorri said Monday.

The ring allegedly comprised 35 Mexican women, none of them minors, Blanco said.

"The owner of Team Juanita" had not been charged with a crime as of Tuesday, and Blanco said the Consulate was not aware of charges pending against him in the U.S.

Bummer!

Is there a URL to the actual story?

I thought prostitution was legal in Mexico, but maybe 'pimping' is not?

The SD U-T does not seem to have reported it; the North County Times did.  The other reports online are from Tijuana newspapers and are, obviously, in Spanish. (The statement by the TJ "official" may prove to be groundless.)

I wonder which three women were arrested.

Nahomny and Yadira.  (Sp?) Also one of his secretaries was arrested as an accomplice.

You da man!
Isn't Nahomny a new mom?

I think it's Monica that's the new mom.

Local laws govern prostitution.  In TJ prostitution is legal, but pimping and pandering are felonies.

Only when you don't share the profits with the local law enforcement, I strongly believe that this sting came from the us authorities, The guy is been doing that for good while..

What on earth leads you to believe that this came from US authorities?  You don't think it might have far more to do with perhaps missing a payment to his local cops?

U R probably right!(glengarryleads) What leads me, I think a read some where that he was wanted for child pornography near lake elsinore? as well! I might be wrong though, in any case I don't give a @#$%%^^%...

tonyv666...that's bad information you posted.

According to the US Consolate he isn't wanted in the US.  There are no charges involving minors or child pornography aginst him in either the US or Mexico.  Bail has been reduced from $20,000.00 to $9,000.00 because while there's a lot of media hype there's no evidence of anything other than pimping and pandering (which are serious felonies).

The most likely cause for the arrest is he didn't make the proper payments to the "powers that be" in TJ.

Was talking to Jazmin in TJ friday, what she said was that Dennis the owner of Team Juanita was in prison because he had a total of 5 girls that were under age working for him. Under age prostitution is against the law in Mexico (which it should be da). Also that everyone is wondering about Mundo at Cumintj because he pulled his web site also.

thanks mooser! as far as I know he'll be closed
'till averithing clears up...

Any statements that he actually had underage girls working for him are just hearsay.  If that had actually been the case, the papers would have been all over it.  There's no indication that this had anything to do with underage girls.  (The claim that he was wanted for child porn is also completely unsubstantiated.)

Other web-based TJ services have gone dormant as a precautionary measure.  There's no indication that they have been actually threatened or visited by police.
