All day long, Sundays are horrible to cross back to the US but this was at 4 am...
I was in a taxi and the guy was a good knowledgable driver. I always take a taxi from in front of Chicago, all those taxi drivers are cool. We kept going down the highway east towards the TJ Airport and finally got an over pass that wasn't backed up and crossed over, hit the Sentri lane drop off and I walked into the Customs building.
Sunday was a little slower and sleepier than usual.
Some clubs were busy and others were just plain dead. Adelita's was pretty slow and started to rock around 11 pm last night.
Most times, Sundays are a slow day and night and yesterday was a little slower than normal. But then again what's normal?
Line to cross from Baja back into the US at San Ysidro was about 3 hours at 4 am this morning. Walking back was not too busy, only about 5-10 minutes. I've never seen the vehicle line so far back up on a Sunday night/early Monday morning.
You never know when the line is going to be long or non existent
Were you tring to cross off of second street? That one is always bad on Sundays. Come in off of the Via Rapida as the line was less than an hour on Sunday night. Sunday's are the worse, but there are like 5 ways to cross at San Ysidro.

5am-6am Sunday morning is a great time to cross by car. The rest of the day is bad. Usually Sunday is the worst day of the week to enter the US. 4am Monday is when the comuter traffic starts. (About 10:30 am Mondays is often a good time to cross by car.)
I think it's funny how you used to ridicule people afraid of going to TJ. I believe your quote was "oh, I'm sooo scared." Now you're saying what we're all saying, just be careful. Anyway welcome back from macholand. BTW guys, just never ever have viagra with you. That's what they use as bait. One other thing. If you go north down the hill on Revolucion, then turn left to get to CC/Adelita, it's basically empty, and easy to walk freely. If you go west at the mariachi hangout, thru the bar section with all the street chicas, that's where the cops are.
I've been searched two out of three times that I've been there. The guys were really nice. One went thru my pockets, including the little jeans pocket where I had $100. Took it out, looked at it, and put it right back. Then apologized, "sorry my english is not so good." They're just doing their jobs. But definitely do not have viagra or any kind of pills on you.
