I think you received some very good advice from Rockhard.  I'll add my $0.02 worth.

Tijuana Escorts are probably the closest thing for a sure bet GFE. As he said, the meet you at the border, take you to a nice hotel, and provided a great service.  They also charge more than bar girls.

GFE sessions are hit and miss with bar girls.  (Especially in major bars, like AB and CC.) As stated, Adelitas and (at night) Chicago Club are good places for those new to the Zona.

I'll add to Rochard's advice:
--Take lots of $1.00 and $5.00 bills if headed to the Zona as getting change is hard.
--Don't walk back to the border after dark or if you've had a few too many to drink.--While street girls are the least expensive option, I recommend avoiding them.  Sessions with them are very short and lackluster.
--From downtown, you can take the trolley to get to the border. (And, as stated, don't drive a rental car into Mexico if it violates the contract--which is almost always the case.)

To answer more of your questions:

Yes, it's safe.  The girls are as clean--probably more clean--than "working girls" are in the states.  (Thanks to less drug usage and  health cards.)

Is it worth doing.  Depends on what you want.  If you're after a GFE than it's your best option.

For a one hour session with an escort, I'd allow an additional hour for meeting and greetings, travel to and from the hotel, etc.  Plus many chicas aren't clock watchers, so the session may go a little overtime.  (Some chicas--like those I've seen from Team Juanita--are very punctial whereas others are sometimes 5-10 mintues late.)

If you have concerns then I advise a daytime trip to TJ. Actually, it's probaby the best time for anybodys first trip as you get to see more int he daylight as well as feeling safer.
