The last thread contains the link to find out border crossing times on the internet.  That information is also available by telephone.

The recording is updated hourly, I believe.  It states the number of lanes open and the estimated wait times for vehicles and pedestrians.  Calling can be helpful if you drove across and want to find out if the line is quicker at Otay than at San Ysidro.
