Has anyone else heard the current rumor that the "drug cartel" in Mx has given a green light to kidnap any Americans, especially at the border towns. I.E... TJ. Is there any validity to this??

The state Dept has issued a warning on the subject, see the link. I wouldn't imagine you should have much to worry but it is a good idea to always keep a lower profile, it's not a good idea to try to look like a "high roller"

... at the advisory.  Our State Dept. has now toned down the language of the advisory.  You shouldn't have any problems if you use good common sense.

IAMRETIRED,

Thank you for your opinion. What facts do you have to back them up. I feel safer in TJ than in National City. How about you?

TJ and the other boarder cities are a lot like Mardi Gras in NO, Stay out of the alleys and back streets and you will be okay. And as posted before don't make your self a target by acting like a highroller, or getting far to drunk and stumpling down the street.
