Hungry and in the Zone?

I've been going to one restaurant that has GREAT rotisserie chicken.
The restaurant is called Los Polluelos
They are located on F Martinez on the east side of the street between 1st and 2nd street.
Three minute walk from the alley.
I thnk they are open ONLY until 10 PM.

Most TJ BBQ places serve dark meat and this place does whole rotisserie chicken. A half side of chicken with rice and beans is under $5.
The meat falls off the bone and is tender, moist and has great flavor.
If you like dark meat chicken, there are 2 BBQ chicken place, one across the street from La Trop bar on Revolucion and Coahuilla and one on Coahuilla in the middle of the block, not far from La Tropa. Neither are open very late, I think 8 pm.

At the corner of F Martinez and 1st street is Rio Cielo, a Chinese restaurant that's my favorite Chinese restaurant when in the Zone. Service is usually good and not very crowded to you usually get your food very quickly.
I've eaten at the Chinese restaurant at the West end of the alley but that place has OK food, not that great, not that bad.
There's another newer Chinese restaurant on Constitucion, near the Policia sub station that's ok. All the Chinese restaurants give LARGE portions so go in hungry.

I try to avoid the restaurants next to AB and Chicago since they are a little bit over priced.

I've eaten at La Perla Negra next to the Pollo club at the corner of Ninos Heros and Coahuilla but the service is slow and the food is mediocre.

I do like the taco place that's next to Al Capone's which is next to Chicago Club but they open late, around 7 or 8 pm not open in the day time.

Lots of good places around the Zone to eat at, I've only listed the few I usually go to, there are many more.

All good recommendations for those who eat in the Zona Norte.  (Although there's a different taco cart that I prefer and I like the place next to Adelitas for reasons I won't explain here.)  For first class restaurants one needs to go elsewhere, like Zona Rio.

I am ready to go to Los Polluelos after reading this.  Thanks for the recomendations.

I actually like the Perla, althought it's true the food isn't the best . . .it's a nice place to chill after a session at AB or elsewhere and have a beer and a snack. . .the waitresses are usually cute if not overly friendly.  The one thing that will drive me out of there in a hurry though is the god awful live bands that play at todo volument. . . ay caramba!
