When crowded, it can get pretty unpleasant in there after awhile so I agree it's good to get out and hang some. But it's way better to hang out across the street from CC - those tacos and oysters kick ass! Damn, now I'm hungry, and there ain't a taco in sight....
I will often stand outside Adelitas and CC to "lear" at the chicas. But I have a good reason: if I see a girl I like that I don't know, I will time her sessions to see if she is ROB. The best way other than recommendations to gauge a chica.
But that still does not preclude me from being a loser.

If you get ripped off, you can always complain to the manager. [I assume your use of "ROB" is when a girl is a rush.]
If you see a girl go up and down quickly or even a long time, it is not a good indication of time.
You can ask a guy that just came down the stairs how a girl was, but if it was his first time in the Zone, he will think she as awesome.
There are many reasons why a girl might be up and down the stairs quickly OR very long. A guy may have negotiated an hour, and she still may be a dud. Or a chica go up twice but not make it down the stairs. As she is leaving the room, she gets snagged near the front desk and goes again.
There are other circumstances where a girl goes up and comes down quickly: I've seen times where a guy gets cold feet while waiting to get a room. So this girl comes down the stairs quickly, and she would be labled as a ROB.
There are definite girls like the now deceased Sylvia of AB that went up and down the stairs in record time. I once timed her at 9 minutes total from when she walked up and hit the bottom of the stairs. From what I heard, she would just just jump up after a guy came and out the door before the guy knew what happened.
My best gauge of how a girl is, is to buy her a drink, sit in the booth and talk to her. If she down her drink as soon as she gets it, grabs your crotch and wants to head up stairs, she is going to rush you.
If you are too shy to sit and have a drink with a chica, then I guess all you can do is stand on the sidewalk in front of the clubs.
But if you really want to know how a girl is [as I've been saying for a while now] join a TJ pay site that's got info and pics of girls from TJ.
If you value your time and money, the money you spend to join a site is similar to TER, guys will put up what a girl will and won't do. There are free TJ sites out there but there's not much info. The real info is at the TJ pay sites.
A few of you guys sent me e-mails asking for the URL for the sites but didn't join. If you want GOOD info, it's not going to come to you free. It's a VERY nominal investment, in comparison to the rewards of finding an awesome girl. And of course, there are many.
I've been very lucky in TJ with my choices since I look for specifics.

The Sylvia I was talking about was probably the highest volume chica I've ever seen. She was tall, thin, blonde and HOT looking. Looked a lot like Kelly Bundy aka Christina Applegate
