I have found that this place is one of the best places.  Buy the limited coverage which covers you down through Sinaloa unless you plan on driving very deep into Mexico.

If you are looking for annual auto Mexican insurance, including liability and theft, go to International Gateway at 3450 Bonita Road in Chula Vista. The phone number is 619-422-3022.  They can also fax you the papers.

According to one of my website members, you can also pick up abagodo (lawyer) insurance for another 100 or so which gives you a mouthpiece if you land up in jail. (I didn't take out this option) They will also give you a book for free about the legal system and laws in Mexico if you ask. (I don't know if this is still available)

I was referred to them by a monger who drives all over Mexico for work and is in an insurance related business.  I use them as do many other mongers.  They are also local to most of us living in San Diego.  I have no problem with this company.  Use whoever you like.  They offer a good product at a decent price.  They are just the broker for Seguros Comercial America a very strong company which holds 35-40% of the business in Mexico.  So please call Gateway (the broker not the insurer) and get your facts straight as usual.  You are insuring with Seguros Comercial America not Gateway.
