safest is to park and walk across, jut be careful of the cabbies. I would walk towards town a little bit then get a cab. If it is after dark just take one. TJ can be dangerious keep you wit about you and you cash stashed. keep little in your pocket and leave your watch anfd rings in your car,

You don't need your car in T. J., If you can leave it, and walk across, then a cab to the fun zone.

Best bet, sounds like a good plan. Cab to the red light district, $5.

If the hotel is CLOSE to the bridge over, your plan is right on. That has been my MO for the past 20 years. Works everytime.

Haven't stayed in a nearby hotel, as I always just park in the lot nearest the plaza circle where the border ramp is.  Parking there is $6 for the night.  Then we grab a cab ($5) and get to the good stuff.

I guess if you have a hotel that is close, it's just a matter of how far you like to walk.  The biggest issue for my friends is how far the walk is WHEN YOU COME BACK ACROSS, lol...that's why we park near the plaza circle.

Yes.  Guys do it all the time.  It's good for those who want to cross late at night so they can get an early start home the next day without a long wait while crossing the border.  $5.00 is a yellow cab each way (less in a taxi libre).
