Corruption in TJ

I went down to visit the local talent at AB and Chicago Wed. night and I get back to the border via taxi. I get out of the car and these two cops start asking me questions like "do you have any illegal drugs". Then they search me. Of course, I don't have my wallet, only my id and four twenty dollar bills. After they let me go I check and there are now only three twenty dollar bills. Am I surprised? Hell no. I thought I was lucky they only took one. Am I still pissed off? Hell yes. I know that down there stealing is like breathing to a lot of these a$$hole$, but that doesn't make it any easier for me to accept. Is it going to stop me from going down there? I don't know. But I do know that it will quite a while before I go back.

I guess my point is that I understand we are on their turf and we have to play by their rules. But what I don't get is why don't they understand that it makes them look so bad. And not just the people who do this sort of thing, but everyone down there because you can't tell who is corrupt and who isn't.

Seriously, I walked away wishing we could just seal off the border completely and let them do whatever is they want to do.

Thanks for letting me rant. Flame away if I have offended anyone. I know that I may have been a bit harsh, but I am still pissed. And it wasn't the money, it's the principal.

Ok I see this guys point and I have to be VERY VERY honest here! But before I do go on lets just say I am Latin (puerto Rican) and look it. I have gotten out of the Taxis and have seen this twice! They are knowing that No ONE will complain to there superiors but my friend they are wrong!  Remember Karma is everything! Last week the Chief of Police of Mexicali was sent to prison for 30 years for corruption!I know this is not helping your situation. But the only advice I can give you is to have the Taxi Cab driver drop you off at the Caliente next to the Yellow cabs. You know when you walk acoss into Mexico there is the yellow cabs... Just to the right of the across from Mc Donalds there is the Caliente. Its well lit and you can just get out there and walk over the bridge to the USA boarder.
In addition I have some connections (legal) in TJ and I will let them know that there is some shady activity going on at that Taxi drop off point and that the Senior authorities should be notified. In addition  my friend there is a New Task Force with the SD PD that is in direct connection with the Superior Authorities n TJ to help against corrupt cops and crimes against americans!

DONT LET THOSE LOSERS SPOIL YOUR FUN AND GOOD NATURE!

my friend went down last week and the same thing happened to him. they were looking for drugs without a doctors percrip.
when he goes down he always asked to be droped off at the end of the street closer to the border.(closer walk back and dont have to cross bridge).he went down at night during thr week with another friend who was going for the first time. they were not ripped off but were put against the car and frisked. is it true that a girl who lives down there was put in jail for doing this. i know that i have purched my antibiotics but maybe not anymore.

I was there this weekend showing a novice the ropes, and sure enough as we were walking over the bridge, the cops were giving some gringos the shakedown. Just the smug look on their faces as they were asking about "drugs in their possession" as they are going through the pockets.

As if the dealers who were clearly visible FROM the bridge don't stand out like a sore thumb.

Worse part, the cops ignored a hurt kid who got trampled over by one of the locals blowing through there on a bike.

And with all those fresh faced kids out there with machine guns, it makes life  a lot more interesting.
