Border Crossing Details

Hello All,

It has been over 6 years since my last trip to TJ.
It used to be that I could be from the US parking lot to the Zona in 15-20 minutes and back in the same in about the same. That made it worth "dropping by" when I was in SD for a day or two.

I understand that things have changed substantially.....

What is a realistic time to allow for border crossing now? Are there any times of day better or worse?? Days of the week??

Thanks

Steve

Things changed substantially after 9-11 then they got worse in 2006.  (There's a new "by the book supervisor" according to the gossip I've heard.)   Going to Mexico is the same, but returning takes much longer.

Lately things have been very variable  So it's hard to give good information about when is the best time to cross.

Sundays are the worst day. Evenings (other than on Sundays) after 7 p.m. are the best time to cross.  Figure 10-30 minutes.

However, there are times (often Saturday afternoons)when the wait has reached 1-2 hours.  It's hard to predict these days.

(except Sunday) that there's no (walking) line at all, walked right up.

Forget Sunday.
