Ladies and gentlemen, we looked at a place today that would really suit our needs. We're excited about it and wanted to get your feedback.
First of all this is in downtown DC, a couple of blocks from Dupont Circle. Very close for all of the visiting ladies Metro is the best way to get there, but there is also a great little garage nearby that has a $5 flat rate and is open until 11pm!
We are going to rent the whole place and have it ALL TO OURSELVES from 5:00 - 9:00. This is nice because we won't have to worry about anyone walking in on us. The place is very cool about keeping it private.
There are two main rooms that are very large, with big couches, an area for the ladies to congregate amongst themselves and a big L-shaped bar.
We have heard that some of you have reservations about going into DC.
So, what we would like to know is would you go into Downtown DC for a M&G?
Everyone who is interested in attending should voice their opinion. Please keep your answers concise, but please give them.
Actually, a question. Is the DC M&G committee just supposed to cover DC proper or is it to cover the very large metro area covered by all of us who post to this as our local board but may live in Baltimore, NoVa, etc. If it is to cover the entire "Region" then it would seem more logical to locate the event more centrally. Again, only a question, certainly not a criticism.
If there is no screening no one will show up. Remember, this is D.C. It has the highest police per capita of any place in the entire world! Our M&G Coordinators are VERY good at their volunteer jobs and you can trust them as I do.
I often have "friends" visiting Dupont Circle and usually take the Metro to see them, so this is great for me. The parking option is great to have in case I change my mind.
If our trusted committee believes the place is suitable, let's book it. This board is really regional from NoVa to Baltimore and from Hagerstown to ??? how far from the east? My questions is, have you blocked rooms for us? Sorry, couldn't resist the "toga" handle - guess who. =Þ

There is no one place that is going to be pergect for everyone...If the location is near the metro..and trendy like Dupont Circle it sounds great to me.

It sounds great; I would like to attend. I'd certainly be willing to go to downtown DC for a meet and greet (I go to Dupont often enough to meet visitors!).

You may want to tell the folks what the door fee will be for men, women and guests. Seems only fair & civil to do that. , especially if you are asking for a head count or an RSVP
I'm a suburb guy but a downtown location sounds great. Metro access is a plus as well. Look forward to more details on how to join the party. Hope we'll get a bit of advance notice. Schedules in this town get crowded real fast.
