LA Meet and Greet Status (Please read)

Greetings,

Unfortunately I have some bad news regarding the LA Meet and Greets.

Basically, the venue I use is no longer available to us.  Nothing we have done.  They love us.  But they are going thru an extensive remodel which will turn the place into something different that will not be available for us.  I was in the midst of planning a party for Late April and found this out.

So that leaves me in a bad place.  The owners of the venue always gave me a killer deal.  Its a big reason why I am able to buy gifts for the ladies and keep the cost down for gents.  I seriously doubt I can get that anywhere else.

As you may know, I do not live in LA.  I don't know the area that well.  That being said, I simply do not have the time or the knowledge to look for other venues that would suit the parties needs.

Soooooooo, at this point, much as I hate to say it, I will not be planning any additional LA Meet and Greets.  I am sorry, but really nothing I can do.

If somebody knows a suitable area downtown or westside, I woiuld certainly listen.  But as I said, I am not going to look for one.

My only suggestion

I've not made one of your M & Gs.  Heard they've always been awesome so I don't know the deal you got. A friend of mine in town reserves as spot in town once a year and takes over a small bar or restaurant depending on how many people show up. Not sure this idea works in the LA area. i don't know the area so can't help pick a spot.

Ok, its not a military secret.

Here is the deal I had with the venue:

1.  Venue is closed to the public for that night.

2.  We get the venue free.  The only caveat is we have to have a bar and food bill for at least 1500.  We exceed that within the first 1.5 hours or so.

3.  The place is fully staffed with bartenders and a full bar.

4.  A DJ is included for $250

5.  Security is also provided for the front door at no cost.

6.  My parties average about 150 or so attendees.  The venue can accomodate that with seating and such.

Its a super deal.  Which is why I have used them for probably my last 10 parties.

I've been to 3 of your parties - always stellar!!! If memory serves, they have always been on a Tuesday, right?

Thank you Bond for all the amazing parties you have thrown over the years! You are always the hostess with the mostest! LA M & G's have been nothing but excellent to say the least!  My girlfriends and I have always enjoyed ourselves! I will miss them greatly!

Met many new friends at Meet n Greets

Bond thank you for the Meet n Greets.  Being welcomed as a newbie was sure nice.  I made many new friends at your events.  Thank you for all your efforts to bring us all together.

I have a thought or two

Bond,

I've been to the M&Gs you've hosted and know the kind of place it was. I think there's one or two places that might fit the bill around the LA area.  

If you have my e-mail handy, shoot me an e-mail (NOT a PM; I don't have access) and I'll get in touch. Best would probably be to take a look at these places to see if they fit. Unfortunately, my work schedule is about to go totally in the crapper soon, but I'm happy to do what I can before then.

Anybody who's interested in checking places out with me is welcome to do so. We just have to figure out a way to get in touch

didn't you hold an m&g one year in encino?  wasn't that your stellar work, bond?

what about that place (i don't even remember what it was, just that it was in encino)

Yes, a couple of times.  2 issues.  We had to share the place as they wouldn't shut it down.  2nd, place was too small for my parties.

That was always a great space for the parties.  

Good luck on finding a new space. I'm always looking for a reason to make a trip to LA.

This is a blow!
I have been to all of Bond's Meet and Greets and will miss them.I have made some good friends at these events.

what about Bare ....

what about Bare Elegance near LAX ..  that place is now so dead during the week they shouldn't mind a private party .. and its the kind of place that shouldn't need to shut down just for us.    we could just have a certain area.    

gentleman's clubs in LA in general have really gone major down hill last 8 years.

end of an era?

Sorry to see this happen. I always enjoyed those LA M&Gs.

Since I am on the westside I will keep my eyes open for any place that might work as a replacement...(assuming you're interested in continuing to organize and run them).
