I was reading a thread on an upcoming M&G in Chicago which sounded very much like a hands on with 3 or 4 providers and who knows how many clients. it was pretty much the opposite of what you are indicating.
There is nothing to compare here. They are completely different.
A private encounter is a date. You meet someone alone and do whatever it is 2 people do together.
A M&G is a party, usually in a public place like a bar. You meet a lot of people and maybe exchange contact info with a few.
If you must find a connection, then so this. Schedule an encounter with 30 or 40 women, and invite as many guys. Have the encounter in a public place, and make sure no one does anything they wouldn't normally do in public. Now you have created a M&G.

There is no official definition of M&G. It is just a party, and there are lots of different kinds of partys.
However, most of the time, people talking about M&G's here are referring to what I described above. Party's where there is play going on are not usually considered M&G's.
