Meet and Greets

So there are three M and G notices on the board.  One in San Diego, one in Philly, one in Chicago.  What are your thoughts?  Is it time to have these get togethers?  Personally, I don't think so.  But thats just me.  And I am sure the answers I will get will be if u don't feel safe, then don't go.  Just throwing this out there.  Not saying its right or wrong.

Thoughts?

Seems if a person is ready to stick their tongue down a stranger's throat, eat their pussy/dick, etc., and are vaxed, then they wouldn't be hesitant for a meet and greet and the risk can't be much more than eating out in a restaurant.

There was just a huge cluster after 4th of July partying among mostly gay guys in Provincetown, MA. Despite the fact that around 75% of them were vaccinated, nearly 500 cases resulted. None of them were serious but who knows how much further it spread as a result?

Got break through infection, and practically none of them required hospitalization (0.004 %).

1.4% of the people who got the normal flu in 2018 required hospitalization.

I don’t think you need to be scared to come to a meet and greet if you’ve had your vaccination. If you haven’t been vaccinated and you’re waiting for it to just go away, you might have to wait a bit a little bit longer.

I’m just grabbing my numbers off of the Internet so don’t attack me if you have a different opinion.

My problem is the folks who decide to attend who are not vaccinated.  Quite frankly, I would be ok with someone checking at the door for vaccination status.  They just did that at the LV Raider game.  And that wasn't a 100 people.  That was 70K plus.   But again, my opinion.

People who want to be vaccinated will be vaccinated and people who don’t care won’t be. I can’t imagine an institution denying entrance to somebody who is not vaccinated.

In the beginning it made sense when there were people who wanted and needed to be vaccinated but weren’t able to get the vaccine yet. Now, if they aren’t scared and they don’t want a vaccine, then let them be.

We all have had time to make a decision whether or not we want to be vaccinated and we will all live with the consequences of that decision. In my opinion it’s past time to impose regulations on each other when the risk of becoming seriously ill after being vaccinated is SO low.

Well, try taking a flight on many airlines without being vaccinated.  Try taking a cruise.  Try going to a bar or restaurant in New York.  In LV, at a recent Raiders football game, people were not allowed in unless they were vaccinated.  This is happening all over the country.

Is it not simple?  Those comfortable with M&G will attend, and those that aren't comfortable won't attend.   Doesn't depend on vaccination status.  It depends on comfort level.   Organizers can always require proof of vaccination, or recent negative test, if they like, since the organizers set the parameters.

I  have been vaccinated.  I can live with others not being vaccinated.  Its their risk.  Whether you are vaccinated or not, you can get infected and infect others.

Even if everyone is vaccinated, the virus is still infecting people.  You are not eliminating the virus.

Depending on where the M&G is, vax checking and mask stuff might be stipulated by local regs and enforced by house ownership - management. Miss Kitty might hate some of the regs but she doesn't want to lose her license to operate the Long Branch Saloon for an infraction ... so she will check for vax status and limit entry according to the local laws.
.
Or the management of the venue might have stricter rules. "If you want to rent our function room, you have to play by our rules, and we check vax status." "Masks required unless you have food and we only allow food from our kitchens / catering. No outside food service allowed here." And so on.

But seeing 1 lady is just that.  1 lady.  Not in an environment with maybe 100 or more people in close quarters.  IE, 100 times worse at a minimum.

Would love to participate in a meet in greet... maybe in decemeber here in LA?

I doubt that will happen.  But who knows, maybe somebody will step up.  But, it won't be me

I don't think that most would agree with you. It's really up to the person/people who want to do the Meet & Greet Sessions.  There are  people who feel comfortable doing a Meet & Greet Sessions. Which I believe is an excellent Idea. Because both parties (The Hobbyist & The Provider) can feel at ease (Knowing that a police officer may not likely be doing such session). We're always told to be safe. Therefore, Neither party would think (So,  We hope) about doing something Extremely outrageous in the presence of tons of people (Knowing that there's a 50/50 percent chance that there are civilians who would actually call 9-1-1 for  help.  I believe in Safety (That's why I carry Mace with me).

U don't need to explain to me what an M and G is supposed to do.  I have hosted over 20 of them in Los Angeles.  If anybody knows about M and G's, it would be me.  As to people agreeing with me or not, the proof will be in the attendance.  I just think that right now, it would be dangerous to hold a party right now.  But, thats my opinion.  Just as an FYI, my parties had attendance in the 150 range.

Less than 0.004% of vaccinated people need hospitalization if they have a breakthrough infection, and less than 0.001% have died from it.   Here’s more (click on the your tube link):

ie, that’s 4 out of 100,000 will need hospitalization and 1 out of 100,000 will dies for those of you who are mathematically challenged. Having a gathering is not against any laws right now, so I’m having one for like-minded individuals.

These are unprecedented times. I try to go with the flow, let people have their opinions, and trust the people who know more about things than I do, like the CDC. I got my vaccine Within three days of being eligible for it in case anybody wants to know.

Politically speaking, I believe there will be viruses that are bad enough that the government needs to impose mandates. If we had had in place criteria and statistics for when it’s a bad enough emergency and when it’s not, This would have gone much more smoothly. The whole question really should be, was Covid bad enough that mandates needed to be imposed?  And I think the answer is, it was kind of borderline. If it was a little bit worse or not quite as bad I think the country would have been more aligned in its opinions.

Controversial issues are controversial because there is no easy answer. If we can try to understand that, then maybe we don’t have to be so hateful and divided as a country.

...the percentage of Americans who have died from Covid.  The US population is about 333,500,000.  Divide that by 728,000 Covid deaths and it shows that 1 in 458 Americans have died from Covid.  That's a far cry from "1 in 100,000."

Covid deaths have been slowing down but it will take quite some time for deaths to come down to 1 in 100,000.
Sorry Freya, but those are the cold hard numbers.

You have to read the first thing I said.  The message you reply to started with  “ie”, and I was explaining further.

I was talking about VACCINATED people And I included a link to where I got those statistics.  The chance of going to the hospital after you’ve been vaccinated even if you are infected is 4 people out of 100,000, per the expert I’m quoting, And the chance of dying is one out of 100,000.

So really now it’s a matter of the vaccinated trying to protect the unvaccinated.  I don’t think anyone should be forced to get a vaccine but neither should we vaccinated people have to be responsible for protecting those who choose not to protect themselves.
