That's a new protocol.  People who haven't yet been invited to private gatherings are now bringing other people who haven't been invited either.  You must have read a different Emily Post guide to common courtesy than the rest of the world.

I received the official invite email, thanks. I met Jimmy at the Carolinas M&G that I co-hosted with Funtimes61. I just wanted to be sure my email was received and that I was on the list. As for my friend, well... the M&Gs are posted on a public board. ANYONE can see it and inquire about attending. Which she did, was verified, and will be attending. So no one randomly "invited" anyone else. I don't show up at private gatherings with random friends in tow. Thanks for the concern though!

Apparently our host was busy diving somewhere, as Dakota suggested.  I guess all's well that ends well.  Regarding social courtesies these days, nothing much surprises me after seeing some of the behavior of a few of the invitees at his last M&G.  If you and your friend are coming, Have fun!

Since Ron mentioned it and did not explain.  NO, it was not any behavier like was discussed below.  No, the guys were all perfect gents.  It was by some very young escorts that had too much to drink and became too loud and expressing themselves too explict. They are not welcome anymore.
