than a cocktail party, where we can get together and meet some new friends, and maybe catch up with a few old ones. It's a good place to meet someone that you may have wanted to meet from the discussion boards. Some folks set up dates for after the party, and some may hope to hook up at the party. There might even be a post-party party, where several people will go out for a nice dinner after the party breaks up.
