I think it's a great idea Lindsey! And if you two are willing to host at your home, wonderful. I'll be in touch with you...
Hey! So my girlfriend Kristin and I just moved into our new house
and I was wondering if anyone would be down for a meet and greet pool party here in Los Angeles?? I was thinking the middle or the end of July, we will get a caterer, pool, girls, bikinis, guys, music. I would think that would be a fun way to meet! Lol I am just not sure how to go about setting it up, or if there are any rules about setting up a meet and greet... So if there is anyone who has some knowledge in putting these things together and would be interested in helping us set it up let me know! I hope we can put it together!
While I am not in town right now (in Alaska actually), I do have internet on the Boat. So, I came across this post.
Anyway, a few of my thoughts:
1. This is something that I have always wanted to do as the host of the LA parties. However, never found a house to have one at
2. In my opinion, the only way a pool party works is on the weekend. Which will eliminate a lot of folks from attending for many different reasons. Thats not necessarily a bad thing as a private party most likely can't be as big as the standard LA parties which have 150 in attendance. Also, a pool party should start during the day and run into the night. Again, weekends are best for that.
3. If you have it catered, u'll have to figure how its paid for. As most of you know, my parties cost $40 for each gent and that sometimes includes a little food and 1-2 drinks. Depending on your attendance (50 or so) and what you supply for food and drink, I think $40 per person would cover it. Up to you whether you want just the guys to pay.
4, If it is a weekend party, I cannot host. There is a strong chance I couldn't be there because of family. I have heard from many people that they would like a weekend party and/or a pool party. Here is your chance to host or help host. Your host should be a fairly well known lady or gent so people know its legit. I can always advice.
5. My master gent and lady lists are both over 200 strong. If I am comfortable with who is hosting, I can certainly get an email out help in attendance.
6. I will talk to Kate Oconner and another gent hobbiest about hosting the party.

To hold down expenses you can ask the guests to byob. And even byof. I recommend having a BBQ as part of the party.
Holding it on a weekend is best. We ususally started at noon and went well into the evening. With enough advance notice a LOT of guys can slip away for a few hours. "Golf, ball game, motorcycle ride " are all popular excuses.
Security. Gotta have it.
Noise level - gotta keep it down. The host should periodically sound test by walking arounfd the property and surrounding area and LISTENING. If you can hear the music , turn it down.
PARKING ! - You just be super careful with this one. In the L.A. area "Beverly Hills Rules" are often used i.e. you may NOT drive to the party. You must cab it or park at some distance and hoof it. Too many cars = too much attention = pissed off neighbors = calls to LE. Depending on where the house is and what the neighborhood is like, this could defintely be an issue. You may have to have a security guy as parking marshall or in extreme cases you can hire a valet service.
Price- To break even you will probably have to charge each guy at least $100. They'll think it was a bargain at the end of the day.

Kate OConner is great hostess...count me in.
I have a mansion in the Hollywood Hills that is available for parties such as this. You may have seen it on VH1's Dr. Drew's sober house. I actually had my 25th birthday there last year. I also have other houses available for events, whether it be pool or just to rent the house for a party.
I also have in house caterers, as well as decorators, etc. If you need me, I can help host, plan or organize. I'd love to be involved.

Either way I'd love to help throw a party!!

Kate and I have been talking about another party. It will probably be on a weekend if its a pool party. Thinking about an end of summer party in late Aug/Early Sept. Kate and I are going to talk again in a couple of weeks.
I am also going to try and talk to Kira and see what can be done.
Stay tuned.
