While waiting for game of thrones and walking dead to return to TV, I'm trying out a couple new shows...

Intelligence w/ Josh Holloway of 'Lost' fame

Loved the Sawyer character but so far...jury's out on intelligence.  Interesting concept...just not sure the writing is delivering for me just yet...but, we're only two shows in...so...we'll see.

Helix on Syfy channel

I'm a sucker for any end of the world zombie disease apocalyptic scenario type shows...too early to tell if this one is any good...but it looks pseudo-promising

There are a few good shows that cover another part of the waterfront.  Off the top of my head, I can think of a couple.

There's "True Detective"(HBO), starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.  It is an 8 episode series, 2 of which have already aired. I have found it to be intelligent, well-written, well-acted and the story arc is compelling for those who enjoy buddy cop-drama procedurals.

From the other side of the pond comes "Sherlock" (BBC).  To me, the underlying premise of any story/film/series featuring Sherlock Holmes is so automatically intriguing, they attain the same exalted status as do blowjobs and pizza: even when they're bad - they're good! In this particular offering, the series is set in modern-day London.  Sherlock and Dr. Watson now come equipped with computers and cell phones instead of the old standby of Deerstalker Caps and Meerschaum Pipes.  As of this writing, 9 episodes have been aired from 3 "seasons" that are completed.

Check 'em out!

The Borgias! It's like Game of Thrones but without the scifi-ness. Love it :)
