More a massage style post than it is a massage parlor post - Mods can move it as appropriate.

Have enjoyed several nuru massages from American ladies who learned from watching videos and the like, and have thoroughly enjoyed them.  The experience I got was the same as what I've seen on videos so had no idea there's other approaches.

Recently had a nuru with someone who trained in Japan and it's a very different experience, but in a good way!  The difference to me is:
Western style = high energy, lots of contact, leading to a fast release.  Efficient.
Eastern style = building energy, varying contact, leading to an intense release.  Erotic.

The Eastern style focused on slowly building to an eventual ending; no rush but instead hitting pressure & contact points along the way such that at the end you have no control.  Awesome!

Anyone else had the same comparison, or is there another style you've found as well?

I do a Nuru style bodywork session that my friends have compared to sessions they've experienced outside the states. I have never been but look forward to studying more. There's nothing like it, I'm so happy I get to do this, it's very pleasing!
