thank you mattdor. your deposit should have been refunded if she is a reputable provider on TER that has good reviews.

providers from out of town often request a deposit from guys. It's a costly event for them to catch a flight and book a hotel and just hope you will show up. If you cancel on her she keeps your $$$ but it sounds like she canceled on you.

You should post this on her regional board and the general board for others to see.

gentlemen...

this is the first time i am posting on a discussion board.

I feel the need to share an experience, but also fear the rath of you (more experienced) members for my naivete.

Back in early February, I placed a deposit (150) for a touring young lady named 'Destiney love'
Unfortunately , she was forced to cancel due to a health reason on her part.
Initial apology e-mails were exchanged with the promise of her return this month.

I have tried twice more to contact her, and finally (3/12)  requested a partial refund (120) knowing that , since she is no longer replying to my e-mails, I have no faith in a future date.

She has still not returned my last e-mails, so I feel I have no choice but to post on this board.

I am fairly certain I wont see any of my deposit back , but i need to share my experience with membership as I dont want this to happen to anyone else.

Should you have any advise on deposits and cancellations, please share.

thanks

You sent a deposit to someone you never had met and expected a refund?  Deposits shouldn't be necessary with any provider that has screened you and given you an appointment.  If they don't trust you and require a deposit why should you trust them to fulfill the appointment?  Expensive lesson learned, huh.

just chalk it up to tuition.

....on the rare instance, that I have to cancel, after a deposit has been forwarded, I refund the deposit, and offer a credit (amount depends on how long our original date was ) towards a future visit.  The refund is taken care of within 24 hours.

On the other hand, my website, clearly states that I require a cancellation fee, and yet many gentleman feel that they do not need to honor this.

Unfortunately, there is not a board to post deadbeats.  A gentleman cannot write a review letting people know, the lady did not return a deposit, and I can't post about men not forwarding a cancellation fee.

Hugs and Kisses,
Kelly

Oh but he did write a "review". Kelly.  Although he should have
seen this coming blindfolded he failed to see the danger signs. I
have been doing this for many years and have never given a deposit
upfront for services.
The right forum to let us know what happened is the discussion
board and NOT writing a review. First ,Its not a review, and TER
should have never published it to begin with. Lesson learned.

of a review in this situation.

The topics on any discussion board rapidly scroll out of view.

Who knows how many other gentlemen in different cities might be affected by the same process of a visiting lady taking deposits and suddenly 'canceling' the tour.  The review stays with the lady, at least as long as she maintains the same persona.

How can he write a review, if never saw her?

So you mean to tell me, that you have reserved overnight, weekend, or week long dates with ladies, and they never asked for a deposit?  I cannot imagine a lady taking herself out of circulation for a week, without a deposit.

Hugs and Kisses,
Kelly

then TER has no reason to think it's not true.

I'm in agreement here that 1st he should not have given her a deposit, 2nd she should have given it back, 3rd that is exactly why we have reviews to let the other hobbyist here know if it was a great time or a total rip off.

I know that from his review alone I would never see her and certainly never give her a deposit.

If I have to cancel, which has only happened once. I offered the lady money which she turned down. But she did agree to see me again 2 months later, I not only gave her the donation for that time, but also half of the money from the first time that I missed. It's just the right thing to do.

thank you all for your comments and feedback.

it was never the money.

it's the principal.

if our discussion saves anybody.....from future deposit issues, it was worth it!
