In California we call them liquor stores. Here in Baltimore they call them bars. Both bar and abc store just sounds wrong lol. I want to buy liquor, I go to a liquor store! Simple ;)

I'll never forget the first time I went to a 7-11 in California and saw alcohol behind the counter.
Then on a weekend trip I said, oh.. We better go today.. My friend asked why.. I said, tomorrow is Sunday.. We can't get it. He looked at me like I was nuts.
Sunday morning... Off to the grocery store we went! I looked at the situation like it was nuts..

State to state and even county to county.. Liquor laws are interesting. :)

Oh yeah grocery stores, Walmart, even target has liquor. The first time I encountered a dry Sunday I was so confused, like when did Obama approve this and why? What kind of sorcery is this? I can't buy wine on Sundays??! I want to say I was in Indiana but I can't be sure.

Yet another reason to love CA 🖖✌✌ ;)

Once I saw a lady purchase food with her food stamp card and a bottle of ketel one with her cold hard cash.

Look, lady.. I get it. You need your vodka. But until you're paying for food, I think you should stick to the popov!!! Lol  

Some great times at the Vegas walmarts!!! :)

Liquor store.  Depending on the county it may be just beer and wine and the county store will sell hard liquor.  I think most Maryland counties allow all liquor sales to be sold through private vendors.

They are called liqour stores. Some bars have a liqour license that allows them to sell packaged goods (liqour to go). Not all bars can do this. All the out of towners show up at the local supermarket and is in shock when they can't buy alchohol there. Umm see that big store just two stores down that says liqour in big huge letters.
