Voodoo Fest (New Orleans) - worth it?

One of my favorite (faaaaaaavorite) bands of all time (OF ALL TIME) is playing at Voodoo Fest this year. But ticket prices are kinda ridiculous. And I am an old curmudgeon and not into this new rock and roll all the kids like -- I think. I admit I haven't heard most of it.

Do you think getting tickets is worth it, if one only really wants to see one band? Are the other groups something an oldie like me might dig enough to take a gamble? How is the Voodoo Fest experience overall, if you've been in the past?

NB: I am okay with heat, humidity, mud, and Porta-Potties. I'm mostly concerned about the music itself.

All of our festivals are usually outside in the gosh awful heat, so standing next to some smelly, sweaty drunk would not justify the cost of a ticket for me, but hey...that's on you girl.  I would wait for your band to play in an air conditioned arena, and see them there lol. As for hobby business during that time, only high volume, on call hookers cater to most of that crowd. They don't screen well, are always last minute, and usually too drunk or high to even function, and they will always want a damn outcall downtown in the traffic. Let the agency gals deal with that.

Oh London, it is not that bad.  Not so sure Carrie was wanting to conduct much business while at the festival - sounds a bit like she may just want to enjoy the music

I am not sure if she had plans of working or not, but tossed that info in just in case lol. I doubt she needs bulk clients in any event.

They are WAY overpriced. Just go to the clubs ...the music is better downtown...
