Sean Connery and Daniel Craig.  I like them both for different reasons.  At the bottom of the pack is Timothy Dalton.  Jeessh!  What were they thinking?  

the timothy dalton bonds were sort of the uber-bourne films...they went for a more realistic, less sci=fi fatastical approach.  dalton's bond was less of an icon and more of a real character, a guy who actually had to get across town to stop an assasination, instead of flying the space shuttle to stop a laser on the moon.  actually rotten tomatoes puts license to kill and living daylights at number 11 and 10, respectively, of the greatest (ie, highest rated) bond films of all time, beating out quantum of solace (craig) and you only live twice and diamonds are forever (connery).

For a measurements needed for a medical procedure, I found myself in Settle, naked from the waist down, legs strapped in a stirrup, with a nurse measuring my prostate by manipulating a large ultra sound probe around my rectum for about 30 minutes while a number of young women I have never seen before watched with interest.  (AND LET ME BE CLEAR: THIS WAS ACTUALLY A MEDICAL PROCEDURE, PAID FOR BY MY MEDICAL INSURANCE AND RESULTING IN SERIOUS TREATMENT; I WAS NOT VISITING A BDSM PROFESSIONAL OR A KINKY FRIEND WITH BENEFITS.)
Trying to be as cool as possible I said to myself "What would James Bond do to be cool in this situation AND I WAS THINKING OF THE REAL JAMES BOND...SEAN CONNERY.

Sean Connery and Roger Moore, Live and Let Die was awesome.

I just knew Daniel Craig would be the his best replacement ever.
