In all seriousness.....I may be in the minority here, but I would vote for locations that offer excellent & plentiful parking. Areas like WeHo are OK but the permit parking can be a nightmare. SM has very generous (and cheap) public parking structures. LAX area can be hectic, though if you rent in the beach cities/South bay area you can get a great place by the beach, but the parking can be difficult (that can be negated if you can offer private parking for your guest, of course). The SFV might be good too. Hmmmm.....too many options!

Choose Sherman Oaks, and you will make the Valley Guys happy.
Choose SM or LAX and you will do likewise for the guys in the South Bay and Westside.
Traffic and accessibility are major factors.  The 405 can be a mess.  I'm Southbay, if I go to the valley, it's going to be early afternoon.  The return trip can be a bitch.
West Hoolywood is cool, but not freeway close.
In any event, wherever you stay.... The guys will follow.
