My first website was built by a designer and it was okay, but I wanted to add a few more pages to it without having to pay him again and wait for him to complete the job, so I completely re-vamped everything and built my own site with a self-made template about a year ago... It is so easy (and cheap) to create a nice website using a program like Wordpress... I get compliments about my site regularly and I love that I can always update it myself without having to rely on anyone else...
