So Yesterday we all seen the rain was insane! I went down to Santa Monica yesterday for lunch with the girls and we had no clue the run was going on. Well as we get off the 10 freeway and make our way to Main ST. we see so many SOAKING...DRENCHED.... runners. We even seen one runner crying! It was so sad. :( They train for so long and then to have that happen...And in LA. Bummer

Maybe the image of Los Angeles underwater will discourage all the people who watch the Rose Parade under sunny skies every year from moving out here.

It was a bummer. I have a few friends who ran it and said it was miserable.

Hope you enjoyed your lunch Nat. I used to bartend on Main St at several places, lots of good food and fun to be had there.

I much rather finish a race in bad weather. Makes for a great story. Last year i raced in a few of the Southridge classic series races (mountain Bike). i would say the best race was on a server weather day. had to travel 70 miles on flooded freeways just to get to the race. Since it is a national race. the only way they would cancel was Hell and High Water(both at the same time of course) A starting line temp of 40' with a steady down pour gets the blood moving! There is simply a sense or pride and accomplishment most people don't understand.

I weigh half that and I couldn't do it in 9 hours, running for distance has never been my thing.

You wouldn't have to run for distance.  You can walk at a 3mph pace and do a marathon in 9 hours.  But then nobody walks in LA.  Certainly still a significant work out and I'm sure quite the struggle if you weigh 300lbs.
