For me it was more of knowing what to expect from the ATF and being used to the companionship she offered. I knew what to expect and she knew what I expected. BUt looking back it was not healthy for hobbying and I reluctantly took a step back to discover new ladies (Which I have). This I discovered was a very good thing as I have now a couple of ATF's that can take up my time without feeling entrapped or dependent on one. I am currently on a sabittical from the ATF but look forward to seeing soon when I feel it is healthy again.

I hear alot of guys in the hobby talk about regulars and when they leave or exit the proffession they are bummed out and looking for a replacement (something similar). My question is why would a guy especially if married which I assume a good many are would want a steady dose of the same thing, is that not what you are running from? Many in the hobby are into it because the sex life at home has dried up but they still love their spouse and family easy to understand. But are not most guys into variety and change when it comes to sex. So why would you not want to mix it up and try as many or as much as possible, what I hear most form guys I know is that if possible a guy would have a different girl everyday when it comes to sex. Just wondering why some of you chose an ATF and stick with for a long time. Is not the hobby about avoiding that, just wondering what your thoughts are.

For what works is a combination of regulars and newbies because when I just stuck regulars to regulars I was left heartbroken time and time again because a girl moves in. Given the amount of hobbying I do sticking to a regular defeats the purpose of hobbying , but I still have ATFs and from time to time see only them. It is really moods and what you are looking for at any particular time. Again it is healthiest to have a rotation.
I'm pretty sure that this question has been asked before. There are several reasons why guys have ATFs. For me personally when I "click" with a provider, the chemistry is undeniable. I want to see that girl again and again. I've been seeing this one gal for over 3 years now. But I still mix it up, I like to check out new talent for the variety. Other guys feel "safe" when they find a gal that's cool and that's all they want, they don't want to take risks and TOFTT for a variety of reasons.
It also has to do with the maturity level (both age and emotionally) of the individual hobbyist. I think as you get older, you're looking for someone with more than just a pretty face. You wanna be able to hold a conversation with a gal, have some deeper connection, than just straight ahead sex. They hobby is different for different players. It's not just about having sex with a different girl every time you go out to play.
Depends on mood, too. Think in terms of food: sometimes I feel like having some comfort food. Something I know I like, that I can depend on, and make me feel good, nothing too exotic. Other times, I like to go out to a new restaurant and try something completely different that I've never had.
Do you know how hard it is to get an amazing provider that you feel safe bringing her to your home . Once you find the one your comfortable with it becomes a safe issue . Id like to find other girls that are really cool to be with that are intelligent as well as sexy but its like trying to find a needle in a haystack . You see girls that are rated 10 that are nothing close to it so why deal with it when you have one your happy with seeing .
I have 2 to 3 girls that I see on a regular basis because we clicked and the sex is awesome but that doesn't stop me from looking for more. Afterall that's why we're doing this. I'll check out new girls and if I like them they become regulars. I just need to make more money.
After many years in the hobby, I Find that I tend to form bonds with some ladies and want to repeat. I keep 3 or4 regulars whom I see in rotation but still work in 1 or 2 new providers a year. trouble is, I like the new ones too and the rotation tends to grow to where I cannot see my favorites as often as I would like. when one of them retires or moves, It does not
Crush me but rather leaves more time for my other favorites.
I think your assumption that we're all here to get as much variety as possible is flawed. I agree with other posters to this thread that if you find someone that you absolutely click with, and she rocks your world? Why not keep seeing her. I've also had the experience of booking with a 9 or 10 only to be sorely disappointed, so even a TER reference can be misleading. And I sound like a broken record, but yes if that ATF retires or moves on, there is the potential for heartbreak, but . . . with funds as scarce as they can be, I'd rather invest in a known 10 experience than roll the dice on a new tryst.
While I do as much homework as I can - there is still some risk that the encounter will not be what I am hoping for with a new lady. I keep seeing new ladies until I feel a connection that creates a feeling, 'mmm I want to see her again.'
She becomes a regular if it keeps getting better and/or reaches a level that has me thinking, 'why risk being with someone new and it may not be good.'

While I maintain regulars I find I cannot resist the excitement of seeing a newbie without reviews and sometimes even a working name that a Booker gives a head up on .
Even when the outcome does not meet expectations the buzz and excitements is worth the $250.

I have 3 regulars for an average of 4 years, but 2 are retiring, so that makes an argument for variety. However, the two are going to be hard to replace...one I won't miss, but the second has me heartbroken. There's really no such thing as absolute NSA...not with regulars...but I'm losing her for all the right reasons. She's approaching 50 and found a guy that'll marry her and give her the long term security she's going to need in the future, something I couldn't do becasue of my marital status (wife and I aren't made at each other, just no physical attraction). So I'm basically a newbie starting over...another argument for variety.
I find that a mix is best, and that my desires wax and wane between ATFs and new girls. I had one ATF who I saw on and off for 7 or 8 years. I still miss her and wish she hadn't retired. At the moment, I have two NYC regulars (a well-known indie whom I have seen probably 15-20 times, and another girl who is totally UTR) and I am cultivating an LA regular. Basically, when I am going to play, my default position is one of those girls, but I usually check the boards to see if there is anyone I haven't seen who really piques my interest. Over time, I find my attention drawn to new girls, then it shifts back to the stable of ATFs.
But hey, since every one of these women is really hot and amazing in the sack, let's remember the first rule of hobbying: hobbying is awesome.
