I have been aware for awhile that Friday is what TER calls SHILL DAY, where members are allowed to promote a provider where such promotion is otherwise against the rules. It begs the question for me of whether such promotion, whether solicited by the provider or not, helps or hurts that provider's business.
After observing for awhile, I would have to come down on the side that it probably hurts most providers. From some of the comments, it seems there is suspicion among many members that the Shill is receiving some kind of quid pro quo (discounts, special services, etc.) for his promotion efforts, which may put some of our members off from seeing a girl they might otherwise be inclined to see. But suspicion aside about why the Shill would be doing all of us such a favor, I conclude there are two main reasons that shilling hurts a provider. The first is the reputation of the shill. I for one, would not ever consider shilling for a girl I liked, because for every friend I have on these boards, there is also a member here who does not care for me, and I would not want to impress the negativity towards me onto a girl that I was seeking to promote. So unless a Shill has a pristine reputation and is liked and admired by all of the membership here, I think a girl is going to lose business by being associated with certain shills, and I would certainly include myself among them. The second is that Shilling may set unreasonable expectations. I will use as an example a recent shill of a Kgirl who was shilled here on February 26th. The only review she had was from the shill himself. Since then, she has had three more reviews, with mediocre scores and comments, and all three reviewers concluding they would not repeat with her, which is one of things I look most for when checking reviews on a new girl. Consequently, it makes me wonder if the overselling efforts of the shill in his promotion post set unreasonably high expectations for hobbyists interested in seeing her. With over-the-top superlatives like, "she is new on the scene and has taken over like a storm", "her skills are second to no one", and "one of the best around without a doubt", does it set the bar so high that there is no way the girl is going to measure up. Consequently, are the reviewers more harsh in their reviews because they feel duped by the shill? It's an interesting dilemma, and I would be interested in hearing similar or opposing viewpoints. I might have it all wrong, but I don't think so.i'm shilling for ya, buddy!
because I think you associating yourself with me might improve my standing rather than hurt it. LOL
...and makes me much less inclined to research that gal for a possible date. Ironic since shilling is intended to do just the opposite.
I've had an awareness of but never paid close attention to the "shill" game.
I suspect I am now 5th reviewer of the Kgirl you mention, (I've only handed out a 6 for performance once before, and when I reflect on that old session, she probably deserved a higher mark). I really struggled giving this mark, but I felt I had to review her because the level of disappointment, both wasted time and money and the fact that my experience was so radically different from the other reviewers.
I thought I knew well enough about the first reviewer and have come to expect a review from him to be somewhere in the ball park... now I know to take what's said with a grain of salt.
The shill may help a provider in the short term, but in the long term, only if the shills reputation is good and his reviews are close to accurate
not include your review, but I wrote this post last night and just pasted it in this morning, and I think your review is new today.

Understood, wasn't suggesting otherwise.
...limited to K-girls. If they "dominate" the market as is so often repeated by their fanboys, then why the need for shilling at all? Even if they're new, word will spread soon enough through the Korean version of the jungle drums
point. They all work with bookers who refresh and post their ads all day. Its like having their own public relations guy which the indies don't have, so you're right, why do they need a shill on top of having a booker?
I'm pretty sure it's because of bad attitudes towards them. Those guys get dumped on. Nothing wrong with having fans if you're in the entertainment business and kdolls seem to generate that enthusiasm. Nothing wrong with that. But just as food for thought, substitute kdoll for Kanye West or Taylor Swift. You get the picture.
There are two things I find irksome. Shilling and replying to a providers ad. It dampens the whole GFE. Since the fantasy is that's she your girl friend (if only for an hour or two), a reply to an ad like "loved our time yesterday" is the same thing as seeing a used condom in the bathroom trash, or worse in the bed. It's also kind af a really lame brag, like look at me I fucked a chick and honestly think I was the only one who did that. Ever. Just lame IMHO.
I think based on the guy who's behind the shilling it hurts the providers mainly because the main guy doing the shilling on these boards has been identified as a fraud in the past so his endorsement is toxic to the girls. He's also a very divisive character who tends to piss a lot of people off so his shills definitely don't help the girls at all. He's obviously on the payroll for a particular agency so his shills don't come off as genuine either. His last shill was for a girl who's been around for awhile yet he never even reviewed so it was pretty obvious that he never even saw her but rather was again trying to score points with the agency that he's obliviously on the books for.
Shilling doesn't help IMO and I don't think the girls want to be shilled either. They would rather have a review or repeat business as opposed to a shill that somewhat makes them a target

but i never considered it shilling... when a lady i particularly like posts an ad and i see it, i'll usually add a comment saying how much i enjoyed her and recommend her (tho i will point out i have never been in the k-girl scene, so maybe i am irrelevant to this conversation).
now i don't do that for every woman i've seen, and i don't even do it for every woman i've enjoyed my time with.
but there are a few ladies in my life that i wish only the best for in their careers... and it never occurred to me that my vocal support of their skills would be considered a turn off.
if that's the case i certainly am sorry... not that i can apologize to any one person... but i am sorry that it may effect the lady's possibilities for dates adversely, that's the opposite of what i intend.
you guys have given me food for thought, i may refrain from vocal support in the future.
If somebody posts an ISO, or if a provider posts an ad, and you just provide a comment of validation or suggest a girl to the ISO poster, I don't think that is the same as promoting a girl out of the blue on Shill Fridays.

that's why coeur-de-lion is the best commentor on these boads! my atf commentor! read his comments, they are great!!
It is interesting that the girl I picked as an example in the OP of this thread has a new review one day after with a score of 10/9. Just a coincidence, or has our shill opened a new handle to promote her with an inflated review instead? Seems a little more sneaky and devious to me How does it look to the rest of you?
IMO shilling is a negative. Mongers who shill are getting benefits from agencies whether it's discounts or freebies. A shill thinks he can increase business by posting a provider's name. Shilling should be banned because it minimizes the effectiveness of the review system.
Short: No. If she has reviews and credibility it's kind of an echo
Long: Yes. If she is newer and you're *really* established (as in whitelists) and you refer or shill for a girl on a forum it can really help her with credibility (and then some)

the girls have around 2 months to make as much as money as possible and with so much competition they can't just wait around for word of mouth to spread naturally so bookers and the girls themselves sometimes ask long time customers to shill. its just that not every girl is a Rebecca Asia etc so you get some ripoffs. but thats in anything. theres no such thing as a sure thing everytime
Like many other hobbyists, I went to the aforementioned provider that was shilled shortly after the review. This k-girl is straight out of Hooker Hill in Itaewon, her Korean is real gangster talk too. I don't know if my dick is scared or I'm scared for my dick. I could almost hear the RickRoll'D music as the door opened, coupled with a trolol face in the thin air.
