Don't you hate when you contact several providers in advance and no one is around? That leaves me at 3pm on Wednesdsy afternoon, with no choice but strip clubs. Yah!
The concept of Cityvibe's "available now" feature is (in theory, at least) supposed to help guys in this situation. But as a practical matter it has never really worked that way for me. I have tried it both ways, contacting providers who are listed as being available now and also by listing myself as available now. When the providers appear online, that doesn't necessarily mean they are actually available. They might be dealing with email or updating their profiles or whatever else they might be doing. But when I've reached out to many of them, they often say they don't take same day appointments and need to go through the usual screening, which can take a while. That's all perfectly reasonable, but it eliminates any possibility of setting up a date on short notice, thus defeating the notion of "available now." And when I've listed myself as available, I usually have gotten no response at all, and certainly have never received a response from any of the top-rated providers, who undoubtedly don't need to go in search of dates.
Anyway, I feel your pain and hope you found something fun to do this afternoon. There are some good strip clubs out there where you can have a little extra fun, but it's never as good as being with one of LA's top providers.

@glixner - I get @arrow's pain. When you're looking for an incall with an independant provider, sometimes you just can't put together a last minute booking. I'd been trying to set plans for this week as well. The only true success I've had in last minute are K-Girls. They already have an incall location, and if they have the time, you're up. But if you're not into K-Girls, it can be a problem.
For me this week, I had a tough time setting something up with even a few days notice. I had specific times I was available and it was tough getting it all coordinated. Some girls don't post a phone #, so it's slow emails back and forth trying to set it up. And in one case, I had it set up, only to have it canceled. I finally managed set up something, but with a whole other girl than the ones I'd been trying earlier. Go Figure.
One last thing. while there is quite the Buffet of ladies in LA, I'm not a 'any port in a storm' guy. I never just pick a girl and call. To continue the food metaphor..... If I'm in the mood for mexican food, I don't go into whatever the closest restaurant is and order, I go looking for mexican food. I usually have some girl's look that's grabbed my attention or a suggestion from another hobbyest I trying make happen.
Money's tight for me but I must hobby of course. So when I hobby, I'm really picky, too picky probably. We all have our "types" and so the pool I'm searching in is smallish.
I'm sure there are really amazing women who don't quote fit my profile but would rock my world. Alas.
I also dabble in the AMP pool. I have one girl in particular at a place in the valley that meets my needs. But she only works a couple days a week, and of course it's not as good as a great provider.
I also have some go to girls at SC's, and several SC's that I try when I need to. Sometimes it's fantastic, and once in a while I drop a bunch of money and get nothing. It's a crapshoot.
But of course the hunt is at least part of the fun.
