I think based on the guy who's behind the shilling it hurts the providers mainly because the main guy doing the shilling on these boards has been identified as a fraud in the past so his endorsement is toxic to the girls. He's also a very divisive character who tends to piss a lot of people off so his shills definitely don't help the girls at all. He's obviously on the payroll for a particular agency so his shills don't come off as genuine either. His last shill was for a girl who's been around for awhile yet he never even reviewed so it was pretty obvious that he never even saw her but rather was again trying to score points with the agency that he's obliviously on the books for.
Shilling doesn't help IMO and I don't think the girls want to be shilled either. They would rather have a review or repeat business as opposed to a shill that somewhat makes them a target

I have been aware for awhile that Friday is what TER calls SHILL DAY, where members are allowed to promote a provider where such promotion is otherwise against the rules. It begs the question for me of whether such promotion, whether solicited by the provider or not, helps or hurts that provider's business.
After observing for awhile, I would have to come down on the side that it probably hurts most providers. From some of the comments, it seems there is suspicion among many members that the Shill is receiving some kind of quid pro quo (discounts, special services, etc.) for his promotion efforts, which may put some of our members off from seeing a girl they might otherwise be inclined to see. But suspicion aside about why the Shill would be doing all of us such a favor, I conclude there are two main reasons that shilling hurts a provider.
The first is the reputation of the shill. I for one, would not ever consider shilling for a girl I liked, because for every friend I have on these boards, there is also a member here who does not care for me, and I would not want to impress the negativity towards me onto a girl that I was seeking to promote. So unless a Shill has a pristine reputation and is liked and admired by all of the membership here, I think a girl is going to lose business by being associated with certain shills, and I would certainly include myself among them.
The second is that Shilling may set unreasonable expectations. I will use as an example a recent shill of a Kgirl who was shilled here on February 26th. The only review she had was from the shill himself. Since then, she has had three more reviews, with mediocre scores and comments, and all three reviewers concluding they would not repeat with her, which is one of things I look most for when checking reviews on a new girl. Consequently, it makes me wonder if the overselling efforts of the shill in his promotion post set unreasonably high expectations for hobbyists interested in seeing her. With over-the-top superlatives like, "she is new on the scene and has taken over like a storm", "her skills are second to no one", and "one of the best around without a doubt", does it set the bar so high that there is no way the girl is going to measure up. Consequently, are the reviewers more harsh in their reviews because they feel duped by the shill?
It's an interesting dilemma, and I would be interested in hearing similar or opposing viewpoints. I might have it all wrong, but I don't think so.
