Hello ! I was looking for some old friends in the Inland Empire / Palm Springs area. Is that message board completely gone or is it just me ?
Happy weekend all and kisses from Amsterdam :)

dead for long periods of time, they are removed since the are just taking up space.  An example of "use it or lose it."

There is still a Central Valley and Gold Coast board, as well as Tennessee, Kansas, and others that have been on life support for years.

criteria TER uses in deciding enough is enough for a weak regional board.  I'm near the I.E., so I'm just adding an observation that it hasn't seen much activity over the last few years.  I don't follow the other two you mentioned because they are too far from me, but Central Valley runs from Bakersfield to Sacramento, an area larger than many states, so its geographically huge.  Gold coast includes the ocean communities West of the SFV, starts where Malibu ends and runs through Ventura, and while not as large geographically as the Central Valley, is more upscale as far of income and property values.  Inland Empire is San Bernardino County (largest county in CA) and Riverside County, is extremely conservative (not much demand for hookers except in the Palm Springs area where that are old guys with money) and has lower incomes and property values than other areas surrounding LA.  How's that for a very informative non-answer to your question?

If you had said in your initial post something like, "TER might have removed it because it was inactive,"  or something similar where it was obvious you were making a guess, I might not have said anything. However you posted with conviction like you have first hand knowledge of TER executive decisions.
Your post,  "When they go dead for long periods of time they are removed..." comes off as a fact from someone in the know. It simply is not true as I pointed out. Many of us have been around a long time, and have seen lots of very dead discussion boards stay up forever.  Perhaps TER did pull the I.E. board because it was inactive but we don't know that for sure, and it begs the question of why that board, and what about all the other dead boards?  Or perhaps somebody at TER pushed the wrong button and hit delete by accident (like the idiot responsible for Hawaii's false missile alert in January). The fact is we can guess but we don't know why the I.E. board was pulled, and you shouldn't make definitive statements like you are in the know, when you aren't.

Thanks for all the geographic info but I didn't need that. I am familiar with California, and I know what areas those boards covered. In fact if you want a bit of history, I am probably responsible for those three boards being created. I posted on the S&P board on 6/29/2014 asking TER to create those specific 3 boards  to help give the displaced RB folks places to post and to feel welcome at TER. The three boards were created on 7/2/2014. I followed those boards a lot in the beginning and unfortunately they were all dead and never gained any real life. I felt bad bad because I always post on the S&P board against the creation of new dead regional boards, and here I was asking for, and getting 3 new boards, which were dead from the get go. As I said, I followed them a lot in the beginning and it always seems like the Gold Coast was the "deadest" of the 3. I haven't followed them recently so I can't say that the I.E. board was even more inactive than the GC, or not, but I still have the question, if they killed the I.E. board because of light activity, what about all the other dead boards?

a debt of gratitude for "creating" the dead boards in the first place.  I had no idea you were responsible, but I'm glad I used the wording I did in my first post so you would have the platform to tell us here in LA about this very significant accomplishment of yours, perhaps even the crowning achievement of your hobby career.  You have every right to feel proud, and far be it from me to take that away from you.  It makes me want to start posting on the other two to show my support for keeping your dream alive.  (Sorry bro, couldn't help myself - lol).
