So, quite unexpectedly, a retired provider I had enjoyed good rapport with texted me out of the blue last week. We chatted and made a date to meet the next afternoon. All was as it used to be -- no, even better -- intense and unrestrained. We enjoyed almost three hours in each other's company. As we left the room, she walked ahead in one direction, and I stopped and said goodbye as I walked in the other. While we were together, we talked quite a bit (in between other activities), but no mention was ever made of pay. Only afterward did I realize we "did it" outside of a business transaction. Should I ignore it and just savor the luck while it lasts? Or should I give her the usual gift, in the hopes of prolonging these meetings?
Any thoughts or past experiences in this vein? Any thoughts from other providers?
I would say enjoy the moment. She probably miss the spontanous interaction with another person other that the one she may be involved with. Or maybe retesting the waters if she is planning to get back into the business.
Whatever it is, enjoy the time. It is one of the key reasons why we are here.
