I discovered the hobby through a friend who suggested my first provider.  My first provider  then introduced me to TER.  Ever since then, TER has been both a conduit and verification for companions.

The most secure and user friendly sites for me are city-source, thatmall, and private websites. In addition, the meet and greets have been awesome introductory events.

The most accurate are TER reviews, and city-source, thatmall, and private websites.

Where did you go to discover this hobby? * please list search engine, advertisement site, etc..

And which sites do you feel most secure and user friendly to use on a normal basis?
* For hobbyists: which sites do you feel are most accurate in finding exactly what you are ISO?
* For providers: which sites have proven to work out the best in regards to being able to verify a potential "new friend" as well as communicate and set something up with them?

Preferred411, Date-check, TER for the most part!

1.  Was introduced to the Hobby thru a friend who used an Agency.  He then pointed me to CV.

2.  I'm now stictly a TER man.  Only go elsewhere for pics, rates etc.

Now, TER is the only source I use regardless of traveling or having fun at home in "Hobbyville". The TER community as a whole, has been great.

eros was the first start, found found many fake ads, both in LA and NYC. you learn to see the fakes from the real ones. I find TER to be a better choice, but find checking reviews and googling phone numbers, still ads more safety.

My first provider I discovered through Craigslist.  After being burned and bait and switched a few times I posted on Craigslist "There should be a website where we can find who is a scammer and rip-off" Someone sent me the TER website and around the same time I found my first GFE experience and she happened to mention TER as well.  TER has never failed me.  I always read the reviews and averaged out the scale.  Throwing out the Highest and lowest scores, cause you just can't please all the people all the times.  When chat on TER was a hub of activity I even found a few there.  The PMing and whitelist have worked very well for me.  I always like to make a personal connection when possible.  You can get a vibe from a provider on her views and what level of crazy she posts.  I made a few pen pals that are fellow hobbyists.
That was then and well.........

but the hobby actually found me.  Back in my college days, I was hanging out with strippers and then that lead to meeting porn stars and all that lead to fun off outside the club.  I never considered that hobbying but during finals week, I was studying late in the library and I was approached by a lady offering massages. We were chatting and she mentioned she had reviews on TER. She gave me her business card while stroking my leg. I spend all of summer break learning everything about this hobby.  

I have and always will be a fan of TER, because when I started, TER was the only show in town.  Things have changed so much in the last 10 years.  So, hobbyist will have to do more research now and be on multiple sites now.

At the beginning of 2010 (started with cl, then bp, then onto ter and so on) and ter, date-check have worked best for verifying new friends and setting up appts. p411 is  alright but ter, dc have proved to be a little better.

In my opinion TER is the best.  For a few reasons... #1 - Verifying new dates #2 - By reading the reviews gentlemen post, you can learn their likes/dislikes and cater more to what they want.  #3 - In my experience, TER gentlemen seem to be more savvy about the hobby... more comfortable, know what to say/not to say, ect.

I discovered TER from the Playboy article featuring the lovely Nikki Avalon.  I find TER to be the best place to find information on the ladies through reviews and events and current topics through the discussions boards.

TER and thatmall...

I got into the hobby through a girl I met at work that told me about her sisters "part time job"  as an escort. I booked a date with her sister mostly out of curiosity. That experience was really great and that got me hooked.  She turned me on to TER.

I've found TER to be the most helpful in finding the kind of woman I want to see.  Also, being a VIP member and being white-listed usually makes screening much easier and quicker. I also think TER is great for a provider because she can read the reviews written by potential clients and get a good idea of what they're like and what they expect.  

As for ad sites, I check the TER ad board, CV, That Mall, City Source and Eros. I stay away from BP and never used CL.  As a personal preference and for privacy reasons I also prefer dealing with independents and I tend to avoid agencies whenever possible.

It's the world's oldest profession, antedating TER by who knows how many thousands of years.  I remember getting wood as a ten year old looking at colored hookers on certain disreputable streets in my home town.  Does that count as "discovering" this hobby?
