As long is it's not overpowering.  Went to someone that had literally bathed in some kind of strange perfume and never went back.  Perfume and cologne should barely be there, kind of like a nice, pleasant, surprise.  
Being said, everyone's personal chemistry reacts differently so what is fantastic on one person could work out totally different for another.
