any suggestions for std testing services? doing a couple google searches produces these generic sites that I'm not sure are legit.  Or if anyone knows of a specific clinic near the California IE area please let me know.  Thanks

btw this is just for my own peace of mind, i have no symptoms or suspicions that i got something

Mens Wellness Center (funded by Magic Johnson).  Google them for various locations.

Is it really free? Their web site says: "Payment is expected at time of service unless other arrangements have been previously made. Medicaid accepted. Medi-cal accepted." Although it doesn't list any prices.

Last time I was tested (2 months ago), I went to a private-pay clinic, had 8 common tests done, and it was well over $300. It would be nice to find a free or low-cost alternative, if one existed. I don't go through my primary care doctor because I've known him for 15 years and I don't want to tell him what I'm doing. I know that's dumb, but I'd rather pay a stranger to test me than admit to him that, yeah, I'm pretty much a sex addict.

This service is quite confidential and reliable, but it does cost $249 for a full panel.

Well, any time someone admits to possibly having an STD -- we would only get tested if we thought it was possible, right? -- then I think it's a good idea to use an alias.

Not that I wouldn't LIKE it if you did school me!  :)

before you go to the free clinics check if they do a full panel of STDs, cause you might just be checked for HIV, and not other STDs, and if you get tested you might as well get a full panel. It takes two days for a reply and $230 for a full panel but you a complete peace of mind.

we wouldn't NEED to get tested unless we were engaging in risky activities, i.e., having sex with multiple partners. I don't know a lot of monogamous people who get tested for STDs every 3 months.
