Even though the hours I spend on actual dates is very part time, this can very easily feel like a full time gig. For every hour spent in an appointment, there is at least four or five more spent behind the scenes answering emails, taking calls, screening, planning hotel rooms and special requests, ect. However, this is something I genuinely enjoy, so I am definitely not complaining.
I work a part time job as marketing department assistant at a museum, and at one of our benefactor parties, I saw a friend of mine from the hobby. We greeted each other professionally, and he sent me an email that night saying it was nice to see me. During our next date a week or so later, we had a good laugh about it, and I am sure neither of us will ever say anything to compromise either of our identities.
Another one of my friends is a professor at the university I attend, but in a department I do not foresee myself venturing to any time soon. We have both agreed that if we ever do happen to see each other on campus, it's best to not acknowledge the other.
I do worry about running into co-workers or someone from my school, but I like to imagine we would be able to handle the situation as respectful adults, and keep it our little secret.
