Well, if you want to look up the percentages, you'll find we are very, very close DNA wise to chimps. In fact, if you sat a human, a chimp, and a gorilla in the same room and asked which species were most closely related, you'd be wrong if you said the chimp and the gorilla. But I've heard it before and it's confusing.
