Although I realize we for the most we avoid topics such as this, and leave it upon personal responsibility.  We should know, as a community, that even though we thought it been was considered all but extinguished, Syphilis is making a comeback. What's worst is Pfizer;s supply of Bicillin L-A, a type of penicillin,  are at an all time low.

Not a scare tactic, just public service. Sometimes the news feed gets dominated by the Cheetos Jesus, and other news ends up getting drowned out.

but I digress..........

an adequate supply of penicillin is of no consequence to hobbyists and providers unless they are engaging in high-risk activities.  If you think BBFS is the industry norm, then you haven't been around much.  Anyone that has been doing this more than ten minutes is aware of the risks, so I will agree with your statement that its an issue of personal risk tolerance for each one that desires to fly without a safety net.  The newer guys that post stuff like this are usually the ones engaging, or trying to engage, in high risk behaviors and mistakenly think they will be safer if they can scare other people off of it.  Its a fools errand.

not a newbie here, choose not to review, but
I know as a community we are safe and careful, and those that do cater to the lower bottom denominator on Craigslist or BP, are not really part of these boards.
My concern is more of the side swiping hook up culture.  There are male friends of mine, who are one night standing quite a bit, and all of them hate condoms.
I'm much too, 'mature' and careful to keep up with the Jones in regards to that.
Though when I read this article in the morning, I got to thinking of the cross over effect.
That's it. Not trying to convince anyone of anything in particular.

but I digress.......

...a member of TER longer than you have.  Compared to him, YOU are a newbie.  I second his *sigh.*

what is written in the post, much the way you did with a provider a day or two ago.  YOU didn't think, but your post made sense to me, so I backed your assumptions, and we were both wrong.  I apologized publicly and privately to the OP.  Instead of apologizing, you doubled down on your mistake by blaming it on something she posted a long time ago.  Why do you have such a hard time just admitting you fucked up when you're calling out everyone else when they make a mistake?  Can you spell h-y-p-o-c-r-I-t-I-c-a-l?

As far as this thread, read my post again.  I didn't say he was a newbie, I said he wrote the kind of posts that Newbies have written in the past.  In other words, he was SOUNDING like a Newbie by what he wrote.  A guy that joined in 2004 could be a newbie if he's not a real hobbyist, only a lurker, but I don't think that's the case here, but anyone can SOUND like one by what they write.  I can be on an astronaut board for 15 years, but that doesn't make me an astronaut, it just makes me a poster on an astronaut board, and the real astronauts might still consider me a newbie.
