I haven't spent much time there, but the best clam chowder I have ever had was on the wharf.  I wish I could tell you the name of the place.  Cool thing is a lot of those restaurants give out free chowder samples right outside so you can taste first before going in.

Do the 17 Mile Drive in Carmel and the Aquarium.

If you've never been to that area before try to make it to Carmel by the Sea.

Also, if you are driving up there, go through Carmel Valley to Greenfield (off the 101)/Greenfield to  Carmel Valley/Laguna Seca on the way up or back.  It will take longer, but the twistys and scenary will more than make up for it if you have the time.   Especially if you are riding a Ducati 1098 Superbike

It's been a couple of years since I ate there, but the Sardine Factory on Cannery Row has always been one of my favorites

Maybe Nicky or Ben Spies can win it.  Of course, I'm always happy anytime Valentio is on the podium too.
