Read this article about resistant STD

I have been hobbying for over 10 years and had sex with at least 100 different women, many of them multiple times.  I always used a condom for anal and vaginal sex but seldom for oral.  I recently had a full std screen and came back negative for everything including hsv-2.  Frankly I was surprised especially for the herpes.  I've read that about 25% of women have hsv2 and nearly all porn stars have it.  In fact it is so common among porn stars that they don't even test for it.  What I am wondering is are these statistics bogus or was I just lucky.  I think there is a tremendous amount of statistical data available from TER members since they are sexually active but very careful, intelligent and informed and it would be very interesting to get other people's individual circumstance.  It would also be interesting to hear from providers.  Obviously your response would be under another name.  It seems like back in the 80's and 90's there was tremendous overhype of the risk of HIV that never materialized.  I wonder if it is the same with other std's.

Being aware & limiting your risks always helps, but you can consider yourself lucky!

I am also, proud to say I am STD free!  GYT!

Obviously, if you see anything that appears to draw red flags stay away.  I read a review of a top rated provider stating she appeared to have a herpes out break around her vagina area & he quicky left the appointment.  She had the review removed in less, than an hour.  We know statistics say 1 in 4 has herpes & if this is a fact, than hobbyists who have SO's should be careful.  We just hope providers are professional enough to not privide services when having an outbreak, or on their period.

Happy Hobbying!

Thats great that you are std free.  But is it luck or is the risk overhyped.  It would be great if more people would chime in.

God, I hate to be a Debbie Downer just before New Year's, but this was brought up so here goes: There is an epidemic of oral cancer going on, caused by HPV....the Human Papilloma Virus.  It seems to be affecting young to middle-aged men more than anybody, and is very often caused by oral sex!!!  I know.....NOBODY wants to hear this.  I first read about it in a Consumer Reports editorial, of all places.  A lot of us, maybe 50%, carry some form of this virus, but only a few strains cause oral cancer, usually in the back of the throat or tongue.  Having multiple partners, of course, increases your risk.  I'm an old guy, and I doubt very much if I will give up eating pussy....it's one of my greatest pleasures.  So I'll probably take my chances.  I do have a friend who contracted this kind of cancer and was treated successfully, (so far).....and he has had the same partner for decades.  Anyway, it's just not fair.....but we should be aware of the risks we are taking in this wonderful Hobby.  Go online to find out more:  HPV and oral cancer.  This is NOT a fatal cancer IF treated soon enough.....be aware of the signs.  I try to gargle with listerine or hydrogen peroxide after indulging, but I don't know if this would prevent anything.  I'm sorry, guys,....please don't kill the messenger.....but we have to stay aware and informed.  Happy New Year......I will probably celebrate with some luscious provider and continue my practice as a cunning linguist.

Maybe, hopefully, most women here get the hpv vaccine?

It's great to know this information. Knowledge is power and this will help everyone learn more about being more preventative when it comes to choosing their partner and what is needed to be more protective about their activities.
