After I recieved my 10th approved reviews I requested access to the Reviewers Only Board and received the following denial:
"Due to your limited posts on the TER discussion boards your request for access to the Reviewers Only board has been denied. Please continue to log into TER regularly and post on the boards as much as possible. Send us a note in a month and we will be happy to review your request again."
The only requirement stated on the Reviewers Only Board says "at least 10 or more reviews." Since it also says that it is a private board for "SERIOUS reviewers" I did not realize I also needed to be a "SERIOUS poster" so the requirement that I needed to "post on the boards as much as possible" was an unexpected surprise.
I am still pretty new to the hobbying scene and did not want to sound stupid on the boards so I chose to keep a low profile until I learned a bit more how this wonderful hobby works. Otherwise I may have posted more often.
My question to the board is whether the Reviewers Only Board is worth "posting on the boards as much as possible" over the next month?
Flooding for 30 days may not be the trick either. Just participate and wait a while. You need to demonstrate that you are a serious reviewer on the boards also. I can see that by your reviews, you are. No need to rush in. The board will still be there when you are ready.
I requested access to the Reviewers Only Board last week and I was denied access as well. I have been here for more than 8 years and I have over 30 reviews and by most standards I was a semi serious poster on the boards but because I helped out my friend who is a provider fix some things with her profile using my computer I am considered persona non grata on the R.O. board. My request for reconsideration was denied out of hand today so it appears that I will never be allowed to join since no alternative was offered to me.
Given that I would say that your opportunity to reapply in 30 days is not so bad.
As far as the question of is it worth joining? A friend of mine who is on the R.O. Board tells me that I am not missing much by not being there....so who knows. Wait your month....post some quality comments and ask again.....at least you have the the opportunity to do so.
I keep seeing the same girls so I haven't written any reviews in awhile and, come to think of it, this is my first post since whenever they take down the old ones cause it says I have none. But now I've got one...doubt I'll be winding up in the top ten though.
. . . . and since I've been a member for over ten years, active on the various boards, and have over a hundred reviews, I got in immediately. I haven't really read much, but there's nothing really anything new, at least from what's I've seen so far. It's standard stuff for the most part, just no provider interaction. Just remain active and after a bit more time, I'm sure you'll get in.
Congratulations on your entrance into the Reviewers Only Board. You have certainly more than earned it. Thank you for shedding a little light about what goes on in there.
But I would think it is much the same as any other behind the scenes boys room. A place where the guys discuss things about the ladies they won't put in reviews (for fear of provider back lash). and maybe some mini reviews. and a few good jokes.
But just a guess!
