Re: This is why I always PM a provider before calling or texting!

more than one lady has asked me to pm her here on ter after i have established email contact, to prove i own this name and i am who i say i am.

i am what i am and that's all that i am.

I have reason to believe that someone who contacted me earlier today is using a whitelisted TER screen name - that does not belong to him - to bypass screening protocol. The name was listed among, what turned out to be, a plethora of fake information. 3 providers listed do not exist anywhere, and the other 3 are well known girls who have never seen this guy. Long story short, I've emailed TER and the gentleman who's ID has been falsely used. I'm about 99% sure that the REAL whitelisted gentleman, who has written a ton of wonderful reviews, will confirm he was not the shady man who called and emailed me.

That said... Any other recommendations (in addition to the above and BL)? I assume this must happen often, and even if not much else to do, I can imagine it would be better for the real gentleman to know.

Ladies, screen screen screen!!!!! As I'm sure you already do :)

An additional letter to a site or misspelling of one can easily be misdirected to some other nefarious site.  adding a ".net" to some well known sites will quite often result in a 'similar' site but it is not owned by the same owner.  CyberSquatting happens.

This was the use of a specific TER whitelisted screen name. Cybersquatting is no good either! :)

i've been BigPeterJohnson for many years now here on ter.

recently it came to my attention there's another PeterJohnson on the board.  he's only been around since the summer, i believe.

ladies have told me it confused them at first when the other PeterJohnson contacted them.

unless the guy's name is really Peter Johnson (which would be stupidly suicidal to use your real name as your ter handle) i don't see why he couldn't come up with a more original and less confusing name.

i also had a long talk with a lady who had her "stage name" stolen by a new girl, so she had to create a whole new stage name and personae.

how frickin' hard is it to make your own reputation around here?

I couldn't agree with you more! A little creativity goes a LONG way!

There IS a "JoeFriday" on this board, whether he is active or not I cannot be sure, because that was my original name selection

That is unless I using a different site to contact like P411.  Otherwise, if the provider has an account here I will PM them, then if I call or text them and also mention I just PMed them.  Then they can check their account and see that, I'm really the guy who owns the handle.

This method works well provided the provider has an account here and I didn't let my VIP lapse.

Excellent! I'm sure providers appreciate that very much!

As a relative newbie, I am happy to see a provider exercise such diligence and care in screening.

Even though it's probably mostly clients who try to run scams here, I feel we guys also run the risk of impostors, both providers and LE.

Great job, Brooke, and I hope TER handles this.

Kiss, kiss.

Thanks CyberSaint :)

I understand that having a thorough screening process throws some potential clients off. However, MOST men that I see, mention during our first meeting, that they are actually more comfortable seeing me because of this. The truth is, providers who screen well, help keep themselves AND their guests safe. Guys should steer clear of anyone who doesn't screen, IMO!

Anyway, enough about that... Happy Holidays, and thank you for your response!

It adds an additional layer of security as well as a greater number of OK's from vetted providers.
